Local Watershed Group Assistance.
As an umbrella organization, the Greater Gallatin Watershed Council works with other local watershed groups in the Gallatin in a collaborative effort and provides grant-writing, technical and administrative support whenever requested.  Each of these groups are unique in focus and needs.

The Blue Water Task Force focuses on water quality monitoring and education in the upper portion of the Gallatin watershed around Big Sky.

The Thompson Creek Watershed Group works to restore Thompson Creek, a spring creek north of Belgrade.

The Bozeman Watershed Council works to restore the health of Bozeman Creek and mitigate land use conflicts in the upper portion of that watershed.

One of the more important functions of the GGWC as an umbrella watershed group is to assist landowners who are interested in starting a group in their subwatershed.  We can provide them with the tools needed and guide them through the process.
