Members



Who is a member of the Greater Gallatin Watershed Council?  Membership of the GGWC is open to any individual, group or organization that demonstrates:

  • A substantial interest in the greater Gallatin watershed,
  • Willingness to abide by the GGWC organizational ground rules, and
  • A commitment to the issues and work of the GGWC as a whole.  

Representation of the major stakeholder groups in the watershed is ideal and includes, but is not limited to:

  • Irrigators:  Ditch companies and/or agricultural irrigators that use ditches or canals as their main source of water.
  • Agricultural Producers:  All other agricultural groups.
  • Watershed Groups:  Collectives of landowners organized to address resource concerns within a watershed.
  • Business:  For-profit entities or organizations whose main source of income somehow affects the ecosystem of the greater Gallatin watershed (e.g., outfitters, land developers, property managers, recreational businesses, etc.).
  • Natural Resource Managers:  Representatives of federal, state or local agencies responsible for managing the natural resources within the greater Gallatin watershed (e.g., FWP, DNRC, USFS, etc.)
  • Local Government:  Decision-makers in local government (e.g., City or County Commissioners, Conservation District Supervisors, etc.).
  • Non-Governmental Organizations:  Nonprofit organizations with expertise or interest in the greater Gallatin watershed.
  • Recreationists:  Floaters, anglers, campers, hikers, skiers, and anyone else who uses the resources of the greater Gallatin watershed for recreation.
  • Other:  Small acreage landowners, horse owners, small farm operators, homeowners associations, etc.

Board Meetings
Board business meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month, 7:30 a.m. at the Country Kitchen restaurant in Belgrade.  All are welcome.  Contact the Board for for more information.
